Abraham Wright Jr. is the son of the late Katie (Bertha) Gethers Wright and
the late Abraham (Tunkie) Wright. Abraham Wright Jr. was born on April
29, 1958, in Orangeburg, SC. Abraham departed his life on Wednesday,
December 20, 2023, in New York City. He grew up in Eutawville, SC, and
attended the public schools of Orangeburg County School District III.
In the town of Eutawville, Abraham Wright Jr., better known as "Johnny,”
was the MECHANIC KING. He was truly a jack of all trades with a big heart.
He always extended a helping hand to others.
Abraham was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Fred Gethers, and one
sister, Annie (Evelyn) Gethers.
He leaves to cherish sweet memories with his only daughter, Brandy
Tyeshia Wright. Two grandchildren, Jayden N. Middleton and Mahki
Middleton, five brothers: Bishop Robert (Mary) Gethers of Orangeburg, SC;
John Gethers of Orangeburg, SC; Albert Gene (Patricia) Stinson of West
Germany; Joe (Juanita) Gethers of Charleston, SC; and Otis Willie (Kathleen)
Wright of Summerville, SC. Seven sisters: Evangelist Bertha O. Ritter of
Eutawville, SC; Fannie Ruth (Calvin) Rice of Greer, SC; Pernell Dolly Wright
of Orangeburg, SC; Hattie Wright of New York City; Yashima M. Gethers of
New York City; Linda (Nathaniel) Gavin; and Victoria (Sinclair) Wright,
A dedicated and supportive significant other of 25+ years, Ruth Wright.
Two special cousins, Theresa Wright and Dorothy Gadson; a host of loving
nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
