Barry Dingle Obituary

Barry Kevin Dingle was born on October 31, 1967 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Elias Dingle and Willie Mae Dingle.

Kevin attended primary and middle school in Brooklyn, NY, then later graduated from his alma mater Cross High School in 1986. While attending Cross High School, he was an original member of the GDC (if you know, you know). He played for the Trojans as an offensive lineman and acted as a student bus driver with the GDC, (for one day) Lol.

In 1987, Kevin married Roberta Spann and through this union six children were born: Touriaronld Spann, Ashley Spann, Kevin (Ashanti) Spann, Stephon (Jazlynn) Spann, Alexander Dingle and Baby Girl, Jessica Allison Dingle.

In 2011, Kevin married the love of his life, his honey, Gertie Mae Dingle. His family of six instantly became a family of ten, adding Johnthan Broughton, Evan (Sonya) Broughton, Iyeshia Broughton and Tashikah McCray.

After High School, Kevin worked in the Industrial Industry and later progressed into the field of logistics at Home Telecom, where he retired in 2017. At that point, he became a Beach Lover, lol and began checking off his bucket list.

His bucket list included: a variety of Big Boy Toys, from a green motorcycle to the soon to be PINK Cadillac, an RV, and traveling including his dream trip to Africa with his siblings. Kevin spent his time sitting on his porch or by the water and attending board meetings 2-3 times per week with various beach loving friends.

Kevin was a husband, father, son, brother, nephew, grandson, grandfather, friend, cousin, Facebook enthusiast, classmate, mentor, Mason, St. Matthew A.M.E Church member, a devout Steelers fan, Ruff Ryder, confidante, and much, much more! He was the plug. He was the Chairman of the Board. Kevin was love.

Kevin leaves behind his wife Gertie Dingle, mother Willie Mae Dingle, grandmother, Wilhelmina Dingle, 6 children, a brother Kwasi (Tamara) Dingle, three sisters Angela Harris, Cynthia (Glen) Hair, Demetria Berry, 26 grandchildren, 2 great -grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

At this point my dad would want everyone to remember the ‘Ole Kev’.
Remember he had a good life, that he accomplished all his goals and dreams.
My dad loved you all. So, “Make it do what it do.”– Baby Girl.
