Clovelle Philip

Clovelle A. Philip, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Hemingway, SC on September 16, 2025. He was born on December 5, 1930, in the village of Falmouth, Antigua and Barbuda, the son of the late Daniel and Beatrice Phillip.

Clovelle graduated from Grace Hill School in Falmouth. He later pursued a career in cab driving.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rupert, and Melrose, five sisters: Veronica, Evangeline, Doris, Violet, and Meyalga.

He is survived by his sister, Daisy of Boston, MA; his sons, Ritchie of Hemingway, SC, Reginald of Fayetteville, GA, Audley of Jamaica, Oliver of Teaneck, NJ, and Sylvester of the U.S. Virgin Islands; along with a host of grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who loved him dearly.

Clovelle will be remembered for his warm spirit, infectious laugh, and his love for faith, gardening, storytelling, music, and family.

A service of remembrance will be announced at a later date in Hemingway, SC.

His family will receive visitors at his residence beginning Wednesday, September 17, 2025- Sunday, September 21, 2025 (10am-7pm daily).
