Davonne R. Halls was born on January 8, 1971, to Elizabeth G. Halls and the late John Halls of Cross, South Carolina. Known to many as “Big Dee”, she gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
At an early age, she joined Unity Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Junior Ushers, and supported the church spiritually in our auxiliary. Davonne graduated from Holly-Hill Roberts High School in 1989. Many classmates will never forget her friendship and wit.
In 1998, she graduated with her Associates Degree inCulinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University. She never hesitated to show off her culinary skills to her family. She worked as a Correctional Officer at Lieber Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, South Carolina and later worked for Embassy Suites as a head chef in Charleston, South Carolina.
Davonne was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jessie and Dorothy Halls, Alex Gadson and Carrie Gadson-Wright, and her AWESOME father, John Halls. Davonne will be greatly missed by her Loving mother, Elizabeth G. Halls, and Sisters, Lajohnda McFadden and Lakeshia M. Halls; Great Grand Aunts and Uncles: Louise Andrade, Catherine Gidron, Saul Ferguson, and Dorothy Gadson; Uncles and Aunts: Willie Halls, Curtis Halls, Michael (Diane) Halls, Sammie Ellis, Jestine (Esau) Johnson, Dorothy Grate, Vernetha Halls, Queen Halls, and Darnice Halls. Paul (Shirley) Gadson, Elick (Lois) Gadson, Debra Macon, Nataniel (Barbara) Wright, Johnnie (Vernell) Wright, Sr., John (Victoria) Wright, Peter (Minnie) Wright, Paul (Onetha) Wright, Benjamin (Joyce) Wright and Joseph (Charlotte) Wright Sr; two wonderful Nephews, Kyreel C. McFadden and Christian J Halls, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
