Deacon Roosevelt Lee, a beloved family patriarch, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 86. Roosevelt leaves behind a legacy of love and faith.
Born on December 16, 1938, to the late Daniel Lee, Sr., and Julie Richardson-Lee, Roosevelt was the youngest of twelve children.
Roosevelt was educated by the Berkely County school system. He was a role model to many and known for his unwavering faith and dedication to his family. Roosevelt was a dedicated member and senior deacon at Words of Life Deliverance Ministry.
As a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he touched the lives of many through his wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by: his precious wife of 58 years, Doretha W. Lee; his six children, Babette (Craig) Cylear of Brunson, SC, McKinley (Minnie) Lee of Cross, SC, Pastor Maple (Don) Jackson of Cross, SC, Sanford Lee (Linda) of Hartsville, SC, Nicole Lee of Irmo, SC, and Jane (Lamont) Hamilton of Irmo, SC; grandchildren, Blain Cylear, Don Jackson, Keyon Jackson, Dedra Jackson, Sharisse Lee, Sade Major, Demetrius Lee, Dea’von Lee, Kylen Lee, Sha’niayah Lee, Bryce Hamilton, Brydon Hamilton, Brydon Hamilton, Breydon Hamilton, Breyalle Hamilton, and Courtney Cylear; nineteen great- grandchildren; one brother, Willie Lee, Jr.; in-laws, Victoria Mock, Mattie Watson, Pastor Martha Watson; brother-in-law, Roosevelt Watson of Holly Hill, SC; Sarah Wall of Brooklyn, NY, Annie Louise Gilliard of NJ, Mary Ravenell, and Janie Lee of Cross, SC; a host of nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Crystal Porcher and Cynthia Jones.
Roosevelt’s legacy of faith, love, and selflessness will live on in the lives of those he touched.
