Janet Greene

Janet Jenkins Greene was born June 09, 1967 in Holly Hill, SC to Rebecca Jenkins and Henry Avinger Jr. Janet was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from Holly Hill Roberts High School in 1986. On May 24, 1997 she married her “TeddyBear” Nathaniel Greene and together they shared 23 years of wonderful marriage. Janet was employed at Husqvarna( AYP) for many years and then went on to work for the school district which in doing so allowed her to impact a number of children’s lives on the bus and while enjoying their school meals. She was a long time member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where she was baptized and apart of the choir. Janet later attended New Life Church House of Ministries Worldwide in Orangeburg, SC where she continued to worship until God called her home. In her free time Janet loved to sing karaoke and represent for her favorite NFL team the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to that, she was affiliated with the Order of The Eastern Star (Queen Esther #10) chapter.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel Greene. She leaves to cherish her memory three lovely daughters Chanita McCord (Ryshette) of Orangeburg, SC , Tameka Staley (Benjamin) of Aiken, SC , and Tynasha Greene of Orangeburg, SC; Her mother Rebecca Jenkins of Holly Hill, SC and father Henry Avinger Jr. of Lynn, MA; Seven sweet sisters and one brother Gloria Martino (Richard) of Orangeburg, SC , Della Hampton (Gary) of Columbia, SC , Betty Riley of Orangeburg, SC , Angela Polite (Richard) of Orangeburg, SC , Nathline Strothers of Covington, GA , Monique Avinger of Fall River, MA , Sherrie Woeing of Salem, MA,  Sharann Jenkins of Salem, MA and Albert Day of Stow, MA; one sister-n-law Della Govan of Orangeburg, SC and one brother-n-law Richard Govan of Atlanta, GA; as well as nine beautiful grandchildren.
