KeeJuan Dontez Middleton, affectionately known as “Rusher Boy,” 25, of Cross, South Carolina, was born February 6, 1999, to Karen T. Middleton and the late Herbert Smith in Charleston, South Carolina. KeeJuan unexpectedly departed this life on November 26, 2024.
KeeJuan was christened at Greater St. Paul United Methodist Church in Cross, South Carolina. He attended St. James Guillad Elementary School, Miracle Academy Preparatory, and Cross High School. KeeJuan received his commercial driving license at the young age of 18 from Palmetto Trucking in Charleston, South Carolina. He loved driving trucks and working on them. One of KeeJuan’s other greatest passions was riding horses. KeeJuan was a jack of many trades.
KeeJuan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harrison Rusher Middleton, “Dad;” one son, Kavian Middleton; one uncle, Roscoe “Mark” Middleton; maternal greatgrandparents, Wesley and Mary Lee Gathers; paternal great-grandparents, Ceaman and Lula Middleton; maternal granduncles, Harry Gathers and John Wesley Gathers; paternal granduncle, Charlie Middleton; and paternal grandaunt, Alice “Dot” Middleton-Peguese.
KeeJuan is survived by his children, two sons, KaeDyn King Middleton and KeAree Prince Middleton of Cross, South Carolina, and one daughter, Tyler Mouzon of Summerville, South Carolina; mother, Karen T. Middleton of Cross, South Carolina; siblings, Ka’Nye S. Middleton, Natori Smith, Shanice Smith, Shaleek Smith, Kimora Smith, Ke’Shy Smith, Nickesha Smith, Oral Smith, Sherell Smith, David Smith, Khamil Green, and Diamond Rattley; special uncle, Odell Middleton; very special daughter whom he raised as his own, Rylee Mouzon; maternal grandmother, St. Clair G. Middleton; godparents, Milton and Martha Waring; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
