Mary Ann Ashby Anderson

Mary Ann Ashby-Anderson, the daughter of the late George and Elouise (Dingle) Ashby was born on December 26, 1953, in Eutawville, South Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.

Mary resided in Eutawville her entire life. She was baptized at St. James Baptist Church and enjoyed going to church. She was educated in the Orangeburg County School system and graduated from Roberts High School in 1973. She went on to work in Home Health care as a personal care assistant. She also assisted with school summer programs, and worked at Wright Way Daycare.

Mary loved her nieces and nephews, and helped raise them as if they were her own. Listening to music and watching western movies were the highlights of her day.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: George and Elouise Ashby; siblings: Frank Ashby; Della Ashby, Ernest Ashby, Curtis Ashby, and Albert Ashby.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving brother Jefferson Ashby (Juanita), special friends; Teresa Wright, Mamie Gethers,Nancy M. Jenkins, Niomi Jamison and Evelyn Jamison; a special cousin/sister; Laverne Bowman, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

To know Mary was to love her! A beautiful soul, a humble spirit, and a familiar face that was well known and will very much be missed.
