Rascheen L. Pinckney

Rascheen L. Pinckney, affectionately known as “Mr. Fix It,” passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 46. Rascheen was born on January 3, 1978, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

He was a naturally skilled man, but pursued his education by graduating from adult evening school and furthering his skills at Lincoln Technical Institute and Stratford Career Institute. A true “jack-of-all-trades”, Rascheen was a licensed auto mechanic, electrician, and a self-taught welder. He was most recently employed by the International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA Local 1422).

He was known for his dependability, vast knowledge, quick wit, and generous spirit. Rascheen had a heart of gold. Though he valued his privacy, his warm nature and willingness to help others always shined through. He was constantly on the move, dedicated to his craft, and took immense pride in his work. Rascheen’s passion for building and fixing was evident in everything he did, and in his own words: “Any job, any size, consider it done!”

Rascheen was preceded in death by his grandparents Evelyn Green, Mary I. Pinckney, and Robert Pinckney.

Rascheen leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother and father Queen Ester Pinckney and Reuben Pinckney (Gwendolyn); two children: Shanice Pinckney and Jahnai Pinckney; one grandchild, Laylani Pinckney; his siblings: Reuben Pinckney, Shonda Pinckney, Tauron Pinckney, Ronderence Pinckney, Dontha Pinckney, Trevor Alexander, Diana Conyers, Tricia Lewis, Travis Lewis, Aaron Walker, Anthony Walker, and Andrew Walker; A Special friend and children: Tameca LaPrade, Jordan Laprade, Kayden LaPrade; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
