Rillia Mae Blowe, 91, passed away on May 26, 2026, in Summerville, South Carolina. She was born on March 29, 1935, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the third child of Mckinley and Julia Gavin. She lived a life marked by dedication and service.
At an early age, she joined St. Paul United Methodist Church. On March 26, 1960, she was united in holy matrimony with the late James L. Blowe. After years of supporting her husband in his ministry, they joined Zion United Methodist Church, where she served on the Senior Choir and with the United Methodist Women In Faith.
She was employed as a supervisor with the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs and, after retiring, continued caring for others as a home health provider. Rillia was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her two sons, Leonard and Randy Blowe; her three grandsons, Sentell, Raymont, and Johnell; and her five sisters, Estell, Ernestine, Martha, Mariah and Lillie.
Left to cherish her memory: her loving children, Ms. Syretta Blowe, of the home; Robert (Julie) Gavin of Cross, SC; and Kelvin (Yvette) Blowe of Summerville, SC. She is also survived by two sisters, Pernell (Marion) Pringle of Ridgeville, SC and Rebecca Waiters of Delaware; two brothers, Eddie (Wilhelmina) Gavin and Leroy (Blondell) Gavin, both of Cross, SC; six grandchildren; eleven great-
grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
