Today, Monday, May 20, 2024, we celebrate the life of Terbrina Marcille Davis affectionally known to all as “Brina.” The daughter of the late Kenneth Davis, Sr. and Harriett Howell was born on February 17, 1971, in Holly Hill, SC. After a long battle with leukemia, that led to other ailments, the Lord called her home on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Terbrina attended the public schools of Orangeburg County School District #3 and graduated from Holly Hill-Roberts High School in 1989. After graduation, Terbrina attended Baptist College, in North Charleston, SC and later pursued certification as a Medical Coder at Trident Technical College in the same city. Terbrina was employed at MUSC, until her health declined.
Terbrina was reared in the home of her grandparents, the late Willie and Thelma Moore, in Holly Hill, SC. At an early age, Terbrina joined Lovely Hill Baptist Church, in Holly Hill, SC, under the spiritual leadership of the late Reverend A.C. Wright, Jr. Prior to her passing, she attended World Overcomers Ministries, Charleston, SC, under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Thomas W. Riley.
The Mother, The Friend, and The Fighter with Elegance and Style
Terbrina was a devoted mother to her daughters, Lauren and Kristian, whom she loved unconditionally. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her daughters. Her family and friends adored her and she cherished them above all else. Just to hear her say, “Hello Honey,” put a smile on their faces. Terbrina’s devotion extended to being a loving daughter, sister, and cousin. Terbrina never met a stranger. Terbrina’s warm and welcoming demeanor endeared her to everyone she encountered. Her smile, like a beacon, brightened any room. She cherished her friendships, nurturing lifelong bonds with her closest friends for over three decades. Her circle of best friends was a testament to her kind and generous spirit, she touched countless lives with warmth and loyalty. Terbrina was a fighter; she never complained in spite of what she endured. Despite many health challenges over the years, Terbrina remained resilient and positive because she knew that God had kept her safely in His arms for over thirty years. Terbrina was also known for her timeless elegance. Her impeccable fashion sense, elegant hairstyles, and commitment to staying current with fashion trends, led to her love of shopping that showcased her grace and poise. An avid traveler, she explored different cities with curiosity and wonder while gathering memories and experiences like precious souvenirs.
Terbrina was preceded in death by her father: Kenneth Davis Sr.; maternal grandparents: Willie and Thelma Moore; paternal grandmother: Ella Mae Davis.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her supportive and loving daughters: Lauren B. Davis of Ft. Worth, TX and Kristian J. Davis of the home, Goose Creek, SC; her loving mother: Harriett Howell of Santee, SC; four brothers: Kenneth (Flora) C. Davis, Jr. of Houston, TX, Keenan Davis of Charleston, SC, Michael Howell, Jr. of Columbia, SC, and Justin Howell of Greenville, SC; one sister: Erica (Kelsey) Jones of Columbia, SC; two uncles: Isaac (Roslyn) Moore of Columbia, SC and James Moore of Charlotte, NC; three aunts: Mary Moore of Summerville, SC, Anne (John) Comer of Knightsdale, NC, and Carolyn Moore of Holly Hill, SC; four nieces: Kai Davis, Makenzie Howell, Maleah Howell, and Kennedy Jones; two nephews: Kenneth Davis, III and Tavion Major; one grandaunt: Beatrice Johnson of Holly Hill, SC; two special cousins: Linda Moore of Newport News, VA and Gwendolyn Bruce of Summerville, SC; five best friends: Elmyra Alston, Yolando Dupree, Charles Green, Jr., Marcella Howell, and La Quilla Sirmans; and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
