Tiheshaca Greene Obituary

A Time to Be Born:

Tiheshaca Lavonchelle Middleton Greene was born on March 4, 1981, in Charleston, South Carolina to Mary Ann Middleton and the late Jacob Elijah Middleton.

A Time to Live:

Tiheshaca, affectionately called, “Ti”, was a woman of strength, brilliance, and unwavering devotion to her family, faith, and community. She lived a life rooted in purpose, enduring love, and excellence. Ti attended Holly Hill Roberts High School between 1994 and 1999. She entered high school as an 8th grader due to her superior prowess. Ti graduated in the top 10 of her class and was actively involved in many clubs and activities. She was well-liked by both her peers and teachers. During her senior year, her classmates voted her Best Personality and 1st Attendant to Miss Homecoming. Some of the clubs and activities she participated in included Student Council, PACE, Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Math Club, Model UN, and Chorus. She also supported her peers as the Varsity Basketball Statistician, showcasing her commitment to teamwork. Ti continued her academic journey at the College of Charleston (CofC), graduating with the Class of 2003. She earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Administration, reflecting both her analytical skills and leadership abilities. During her time in college, she was a member of the CofC Gospel Choir, completed a work-study program at the local YWCA, participated in the Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) mentoring program, and engaged in various volunteer opportunities that reflected her commitment to serving others. Ti was a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, embodying sisterhood, scholarship, and service throughout her life. Her professional career began with an internship in the Career Entry Program at the U.S. Department of State in Charleston, SC. She later served for 20 years in the civil service as an Auditor. Throughout her tenure she demonstrated integrity and diligence and made a meaningful impact through her work. At a young age, Ti became a member of the Greater Unity AME Church. She was actively involved in the Young People’s Department (YPD), the Starlight Choir, and Youth Choir, which cultivated her commitment to service early in life. Her faith has been a guiding force through every season of her life. As a dedicated member of the Greater Unity AME Church, she faithfully served on the Finance Committee and as a Church Greeter, welcoming others with warmth and kindness. She chaired the Women’s Day programs with distinction and was also an active member of Christians in Action (CIA). Most recently, she was appointed Mortgage Project Chairperson, a testament to the trust and confidence her church family has in her leadership and stewardship. On September 12, 2015, she united in holy matrimony with Virgil Lamont Greene. Their marriage was a partnership grounded in love, faith, and shared purpose. She cherished her four children, who were the heart and soul of her life. As a devoted wife, a loving and nurturing mother and stepmother, she embraced motherhood in all its forms, providing guidance and unconditional love to each child she poured into. She was also a treasured daughter, loyal sister, and beloved aunt, always offering wisdom and encouragement. She held her family close to her heart, led with gentleness, and created an environment where those around her always felt valued and supported.

A Time to Laugh:

Ti’s smile was unforgettable. It radiated warmth, comfort, and enough spark to brighten a room. Her joy was steady and sincere, capable of softening heavy days and turning ordinary moments into treasured memories. She delighted in creativity, especially through graphic design and crafting beautiful stationery. Whether she was designing for family or simply for the joy of creating, she left her thoughtful touch on everything she produced. Ti had a kind heart for others. She made it a priority to reach out and support those who lost loved ones, offering comfort not just with words but also with her presence. She understood the complexities of grief and the importance of compassion. Ti showed up for people in their times of need. Additionally, she valued meaningful social connections, those deep, genuine conversations that nourished both her and those around her. She was heavily involved in her children’s sports activities, whether as a dedicated team mom or cheering from the stands. She was their biggest supporter, encouraging them, and ensuring every extracurricular activity felt like a celebration. She took pride in their efforts and joy in their accomplishments. In addition to her family commitments, Ti was an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness through her involvement with the Pink Warrior Foundation. She devoted herself to raising awareness and providing support to close friends and individuals affected by breast cancer. She displayed remarkable strength and compassion that inspired everyone around her. At home, she took pleasure in decorating and creating an inviting atmosphere for her family and friends. She loved reading, and would often unwind with an episode of Law & Order: SVU after a full day of service. Additionally, she cherished the conversations with her sisters, the long talks filled with laughter, reflection, and a unique bond only sisters understand. Her laughter was more than just a sound; it was a source of comfort and a connection between family and friends. It represented love in action. Although we may not perceive it the same way now, it continues to echo in our memories, in the stories we share, and in the joy she brought to each of us. In those memories, she is still smiling.
