Walter President

Mr. Walter President, son of the late Mr. Edward President and Tennie President, was born on June 17, 1951, in Cross, SC. He entered eternal rest on Friday, May 2, 2025, at his residence.

Walter was educated in the Berkeley County Public Schools System. After school he relocated to New York City, NY for a better career opportunity. He worked in a printing shop while going to printing school for three years. He then worked for an industrial company for six years and after returning home to Cross, SC, he became professional truck driver. He was a dedicated driver for over 45 years.

Walter met and married the love of his life of 54 years, the Reverend Ella Mae President of Eutawville, SC. To this union, they were blessed with one loving son, Mr. Darryl President.

Walter joined Zion United Methodist Church in Cross, SC, and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior. There, he served faithfully as a Class Leader, was on the Finance Committee, and a member of the male chorus.

Walter was preceded in death by 22 brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife, Reverend Ella Mae President; one son, Mr. Darryl President of Cross, SC; two grandchildren, Desmond President and Deanna President; one sister, Burdell President of Cross, SC; two sisters-in-love, Rebecca President of Linden Wold, NJ, and Alfreda President of Cross, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will forever be loved and missed.
